Hand finished, board by board.

Our Process

We can apply any edge treatment, distressing technique, or finishing process to any species of wood. If you have something specific in mind, just ask us.

Hand Edge Treatments

Square Edge

Square Edge:
A clean edge that butts together for a smooth transition plank to plank. This finish works well for a modern style floor showing the grain of the wood without the rugged textures.

Soft Bevel

Soft Bevel:
A subtle edge treatment that distinguishes each individual plank while keeping a contemporary aesthetic. The edges are eased with little to no chatter.

Hand Bevel

Hand Bevel:
This treatment gives every edge a more defined look that creates a casual feel accentuating the textures and grain of the wood.

Aged Edge

Aged Edge:
This edge treatment was developed to create the look and feel of an older style floor. The planks edges are scraped with no invariability and then given our proprietary aging process replicating the look of an antique floor.

Distressing Techniques

Distressed

Distressed:
Multiple techniques are used to create a hardwood floor that has been used for a long period of time. This process varies floor to floor as different levels of distressing are needed for the specific textures available.

Weathered

Weathered:
This process is used to create a naturally worn texture in the wood, as though it has been exposed to the elements for many years. By distressing the less dense sections of the grain, we create an organic, aged feel.

Hand Scraped

Hand Scraped:
Before sanders and modern machinery the only way to level a plank was scrapping. To achieve the authenticity of a truly hand-made floor we scrape each board fashioning a distinct texture that is our most popular to date.

Cross Grain Scrape

Cross Grain Scrape:
This technique gives the floor an old world rustic appearance. Scrapping perpendicular to the grain, we dig out the softer parts of the wood creating a unique ornate texture.

Finishing Process

Antiqued

Antiqued:
This process was developed to create an old floor with years of regular maintenance or in some cases, lack thereof. Proprietary materials and techniques are applied to give each edge and crevice a darker patina than the rest of the plank.

White Wash

White Wash:
Everyone has seen old barns and fences that have been aged from weathering with past layers of white wash hidden in the nooks and crannies. Time has worn away the finishes exposing the original wood and paint within the grain. Our White Wash finish creates the simple elegance of this age old chore.

Custom Finish

Custom Finish:
This process includes staining and finishing the flooring planks. Almost unlimited custom staining options are available with numerous choices of colors and accents. The finishing options include natural oils, waxes, and polyurethane.
