AUSTIN, TEXAS
This breathtaking Spanish style home sits on the lake in Austin, Texas. Originating in the Southwest, the Spanish Revival style architecture exhibits a sense of historic craftsmanship. Typical features include a tile roof, stucco exterior, wrought iron accents, rounded windows and doors, and elaborate tilework. These details create the perfect backdrop for our authentic wood flooring. Our salvaged Texas Mesquite wood floors were installed throughout the bottom floor of the home as well as the stairs. Texas mesquite is extremely durable, so our Texas Mesquite floors were a perfect addition to the fitness room below. On the top floor of the home, our salvaged Southern Pecan wood floors can be seen in the game room/second living room.
The wooden stairs were undoubtedly the most impressive feature in this home. These stairs needed to effortlessly link the Texas Mesquite and Southern Pecan used on the top and bottom floors, so we structured the stairs to match the Mesquite wood floors exactly. (Our hardwood products are in our manufacturing facility in Bryan, Texas. You can learn more about our custom millwork process here.) Instead of using traditional matching Mesquite risers, Spanish style tile was chosen to give the stairs a Southwest flair.
